4 Days from Full Term!

The longer this pregnancy goes on, the worse I get at updating this blog...even though I have loads of time just laying around the house.

To summarize the last few weeks...

I thought I had a UTI, so I called to get antibiotics. The next day, I got the feeling that it might be a kidney stone instead. I've had many before, but they are usually very painful. This was just to the point where I felt like I had to pee all the time...so I knew if it was a stone, it was close to passing. It got worse and worse as the day went on, until finally...two super sharp pains in a row, then instant relief. I started straining my urine thinking that it had passed into my bladder and I'd soon catch it. A few hours later, at 2am, I caught it. An off-white 5mm stone! Last time I had a 3mm, I nearly had to have it removed...so I was shocked to see a 5mm stone and that it had passed with not a lot of pain!

A few days ago, I started getting a lot of sinus pressure mostly on the left side of my face and in my ear...and noticed a white bump behind the same ear. I ended up going to urgent care and got antibiotics for a sinus infection...6 more days of bactrim.

I had my 35 week appointment. a couple weeks ago...my "naked" appointment as my OB puts it; to check for strep B bacteria (swabs) and a pap-like exam to check for STDs. Results for those were all negative. He also did a cervix check (I was closed and thick) and baby's head was down.

I had my 36 week appointment last week and that was rather uneventful. No cervix check (yay!), just pee in cup, weight check, blood pressure check, fundal height measurement and heartbeat. Everything was normal! We asked about elective induction and OB is fine with it. He is going on vacation July 4-14 and I'm due July 5. We want him delivering, so we picked the last day he is on call and staff at the hospital before his vacation, which is June 27th. So, unless he comes sooner, we will be going in June 26th at 9pm to start the process. Less than 3 weeks to go!

36 weeks:

In other non-pregnancy news, DH found out his company is moving their headquarters from here in Michigan to Atlanta, Georgia...so they laid off 100's of people, including him. Luckily he has until next April to work, then three months severance after that and unemployment after that. Hopefully he finds something before then...but, here we go again. This is the third layoff for him in five years :( Michigan economy sucks!
